The Great Challenge
By the name of Allah
When we read the Quran, we come across a very important event in the history of mankind and this universe.
The event is when Adam was created and Allah blew the soul into him, Allah ordered all the angels to prostrate towards Adam. When this order was pronounced, all angels prostrated together except a Jin called Azazeel.
Azazeel was a jinn and Allah clarifies it in the Quran itself that he was a jinn and hence used his free will and decided to not obey this command of Allah.
Allah asks Azazeel that what had stopped him from obeying Allah's command to which he replies, "i am better than him, you created me from fire and created him from dust."
The conversation continues and eventually Allah the all mighty, ordered Azazeel to get away from that state and cursed him till the day of judgement. To this, Azazeel requested Allah to spare him and extend his life till the day of resurrection, to which Allah, the most wise, agreed.
After Azazeel was granted his desire, he promised Allah that now he will distract the humans and will not let them follow the true and righteous path. And he continues to say that "You will not find most of them thankful".
Azazeel's similar challenge is quoted in another place in Quran where he promises by the might of Allah that he will misguide all humans and direct them to hell fire.
This event has been mentioned in seven different places in the Quran, so we can imagine what importance it has for any human being. Quran was revealed for the human beings as a guidance but its a shame that we did not learnt any lesson from it.
Imagine, Azazeel whom we also know as shaitan or the devil is challenging our lord and telling him that the humans will be thankless and we are proving him right. Every day the devil comes to us, whispers in our hearts to kill, to cheat, to spread violence and corruption in the earth, to worship other beings or things, to worship our own ego. And we follow him like idiots, without thinking what we are doing or what benefit we are getting out of our actions or where we are heading.
Just saying "thank you lord" before going to sleep does not mean that we are thankful, rather this thanks should reflect from our actions. Our prayers, our charities, our good conduct to all living beings and our patience will show how thankful we really are to our lord.
The status of my lord is very high and will never get effected by fools like us, he does not need us for any purpose, it is us who need Allah so that we can earn his mercy, forgiveness and blessings.
May Allah guide us all.
Ma sha Allah... absolutely true....
