ALLAH's ADDRESS TO MUSLIMS (PART 3) -

In the name of Allah and may Allah's blessing be upon the last and final prophet, Mohammadﷺ

"O you who have believed, prescribed for you is retaliation concerning (the ones) killed: the freeman for the freeman, and the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. Yet whoever is offered anything in clemency by his brother, then the close following after should be with beneficence, and the payment back to him should be with fairness. This (Literally: That) is a lightening from your Lord and a mercy; then, he who transgresses after that, then he will have a painful torment."

Quran 2:178

Points to be noted -
1. Allah allows retaliation, killing for killing.
2. Anyone who murders must be killed to avoid or stop corruption in the land.
3. Trial for a murder must be fair and just.
4. Only the heir or dependent has the authority to forgive the murderer. This authority does not rest with any court or president or a khalifa.
5. Anyone who alleges false acquisitions or lies during a trial, then he will have a painful punishment in the hereafter.

Allah knows best and may Allah guide us to read and understand the Quran in the manner it deserves.
